I graduated from central Michigan university with a degree in recreation, parks and leisure service and a sense of adventure. I have taught outdoor education at many different locations from California to New Hampshire to Oregon and of course in the home state of Michigan. This will be my 11th summer at camp; having worked at 4 different camps and in many roles from counselor to waterfront director to head counselor. I am a bit of a wander some might say from working at summer camps throughout the USA to cruise ships to teaching English in Hong Kong and China to working as a kids club manager on a resort in the Maldives. I am always looking for the next adventure.
I worked for Pali institute and during my first fall season some summer camp staff stayed on to work and they convinced me I should work at Pali adventures and the director got asked to join the summer staff for the next summer.
Returning to the mountain, seeing the changes, reconnecting with friends, making new friends, friendship bracelets, the campers, Friday night showcase, water balloon fights, so many reasons ????
The campers and staff get to try new activities and expand their comfort zones, staff become your family, awesome activities, camp names, dressing up for dances, everlasting memories,
