This Isn’t Just a Summer Job.
Most jobs pay you and that’s about it. This one changes you. The people who come to work at Pali Adventures leave with friendships that span continents, stories they’ll tell for decades, and the knowledge that they spent their summer actually doing something that mattered.
Nothing can prepare you for the first week. You show up to a camp in the San Bernardino Mountains and suddenly you’re surrounded by people from dozens of countries, learning names faster than you thought possible, and realizing this is nothing like any job you’ve had before. The training is intensive. The energy is immediate. And somewhere in those first few days, it clicks: this summer is going to be different.
These kids will look at you like you’re a superhero. Because to them, you are. You’re the one teaching them to catch a trapeze bar for the first time. You’re in full costume leading an evening activity that you helped design. You’re the person a homesick nine-year-old trusts enough to talk to. You learn every camper’s name. You notice the kid who’s hanging back. You become the role model they’ll remember ten years from now.
It’s the hardest you’ll ever work. It’s also the most meaningful thing you’ll ever do. The people you’ll meet here will stay with you forever. You’ll live and work alongside people from all over the world. By the end of the summer, they won’t feel like coworkers. They’re the group chat that never dies. The people you’ll visit in countries you’ve never been to. The ones who understand what this experience was because they lived it with you.
You Already Know If This Is for You.
You’ll leave here different than when you came. You’ll walk away from Pali with leadership skills no classroom could have taught you. You’ll know how to manage a group, communicate under pressure, think on your feet, and stay positive when everything is beautifully chaotic. You’ll realize you’re capable of way more than you gave yourself credit for. And you’ll spend the rest of the year trying to explain to people why this was the best summer of your life.
